Build Smart

Are you building a new home? Congrats! There is nothing more stressful yet rewarding as building your own sanctuary. With any luck, you'll be there for years and years, so let us help you integrate all of the modern features you want, and keep ready for the future. A few points to remember: 1) Let's meet early, in the design phase! Giving us a seat at the table with the architect, designer, and builder will benefit you substantially. We will make sure the infrastructure in your home supports the basics like quality Internet, Wi-Fi, and security. More than this, we will make sure that you can simplify the control of the other systems that you may be planning on like the outdoor spaces, lighting, HVAC, and anyhting else that you are tying together. Remember, your car ties your music, lighting, and control all into an easy to operate interface...shouldn't your home do the same thing? 2) Wire now is cheaper than wire later. What we mean is that prewiring your home for every possible scenario is extremely cheap, relative to the cost of the structure, and incredibly cheaper than not prewiring, and having to retrofit what you want later. 3) Everything is NOT wireless. This is a common misconception that causes more headaches now than ever. If you want to avoid the "loading" message on your TV's, your kids complaining about their video games lagging, and your co-workers freezing up during video conferences from the home office, do not take this approach. Rather, make sure your home's low voltage wiring is just as thoughtful as the electrical system. Give us a call to discuss.
